JTheo Erasmus is the founder of brand strategy consultancy Timbuctoo, a collective think tank committed to the art of business and the business of art - based in Cincinnati, but with clients as far afield as Sydney, San Francisco and New York.
He’s worked at some illustrious ad agencies and consultancies, including DDB, TBWA, FCB, Sharpe, M2K, Leo Burnett, Euro RSCG, Ogilvy, Possible, LPK and Gloo.
He’s worked as copywriter, creative director, strategy director, MD, innovation facilitator, digital integrator and creative curator, and started a few companies too, including membrane, a groundbreaking collective innovation company.
Some of the brands he’s worked with include: AT&T, Jeep, Fiat, Alfa, McDonald’s, Vodafone, Danone, Samsung, FNB, Puma, Toyota, Guinness, Johnnie Walker, Spier, AOL, BMW, Land Rover, Fujifilm, AOL, Dell, Deutsche Bank, University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati Zoo, Modelo, Clorox and Nando’s.
He was a founding member of APG (Account Planning Group) South Africa, and committee member of APG Australia, and was named one of the top 50 Planners (world-wide) 2014, by Planning Salon. He’s won over thirty international industry awards for his work.
He currently serves on the CAC board, Mamluft Contemporary Dance, advises Wave Pool Art Center on strategy, and is a Resident of the House of a Beautiful Business, a global think tank based in Berlin.
